Kalanchoe Kokedama
Kalanchoe Kokedamas have gorgeous long lasting bouquet of blooms and this plant itself is actually a succulent. They are quite low maintence and will grow well indoors preferably with morning light to keep flowering.
Like most succulents, Kalanchoes will not like to be over watered, so only soak the Kokedama when it becomes light in weight, as the root system has taken out the moisture from the kokedama.
As there are different flower and colour varieties, plant stock will vary on availability.
Please also note that Kalanchoes can also be toxic to dogs and cats (not people), so consider placing it out of reach from fur babies.
PRODUCT INFO
Kokedama Kalanchoe plant size will vary (due to availability of plant stock). Each living art creation is unique, but will look very similar to the Kokedamas pictured in this product catalogue. I usually source fushia or pale pink flowers for my kokedamas.
The actual Kalanchoe plant will generally be approx 15-20 cm in height from the top of Kokedama. Generally the Kokedama ball size for this product will be slightly smaller than the size of a rockmelon.
All Kokedamas are made using combination of sphagnum moss, peat moss, soil, bark and twine.
Basic Care:
Due to kokedamas being moss based, the plant root system will absorb the moisture they need to grow from the kokedama ball. When the Kokedama ball becomes light in weight, the plant will generally need watering.
- Most of the time kokedamas will need a soak once every few weeks.
- To water your Kokedama, they require a 10 minute soak with approx 5 cm of water, using a sink or bowl.
- After soaking the plant you will notice it is heavier in weight, due to the water absorbed.
- Kokedamas also like air flow, so recommend a stand to allow good air flow or hanging your kokedama.
